Ecclesiates 3:1 declares, "For everything there is a season, a time for every activity under heaven." When I first began my college career, I struggled trying to find the best career path for myself. For years, I went through the motionsof taking classes and preparing my schedule in a way in which I believed my college experience should be, until one day I realized that I was not enjoying school anymore. Learning was not fun, rather it was becoming more of a chore. So, after years of not being able to connect with the content I was learning, I decided to enroll in a course in the exercise science department. As I became more and …show more content…
At a very young age, my parents instilled in me the value of kindness. Unlike other things, kindness is priceless and can make a difference in a family, community, or even in the world. It is a way of telling someone that you care. I find it very enlightening to serve the community. I remember as a child, going out to feed the hungry and volunteering at elderly homes. One time that I remember very vividly was going out with my family and visiting different homes around my church community that were not as fortunate as I was growing up. I realized the value of serving others and putting the needs of others before my own. I felt how important it was when I saw the reaction of teenagers being able to enjoy the little things I might have taken for granted around the holiday season. Had it not been for those types of community outreach programs, I would not have fully grasped the concept that others might never have the opportunity to experience the same things I did. Through these lessons, I realized just how passionate I was about helping people. It was something about being able to see the smiles on someone’s face that gave me a sense of accomplishment, no matter how big or small the circumstance was. What my husband's advancement to Chief Petty Officer means to me? The answer of that question could be 10 pages long or I could just resume what I feel in one word, "extremely proud", well I guess two words. I met Christian 16 years ago, he was full of energy, funny, and he had the ability to turn any sad or bad situation into a joke making everybody laugh; that is what make me fell in love with him. On the other hand, he was a little immature, unfocused when it comes to work, and nothing seemed to fulfill his expectations. I always knew that his passion was a career in the military, but that was out of question in my book!…

This is so fundamentally human that it’s found in every culture without exception.”, which reminds me of a memory that I would never talk about it; 2008, China. An earthquake, with a magnitude of 7.9, took place in Sichuan province. As the result, thousands of people died innocently. Later, the city’s government started to organize donations and most people were willing to help, making me very relieved. From my perspective, kindness is all about integrity, honesty, generosity, moral courage, etc.…

Religious Response I have struggled with stories from the news of Catholic priests embroiled in child molestations and questioned my involvement or associating myself with an institution that not only denies some of the accusations but also hides the facts from the public. I sometimes ignore the stories thinking that hatred towards these evil people will stress me out to the point where I will leave the church completely for the lack of trust and deceptive tactics played on the congregation. What kind of person does this acts? What goes through their devious minds as they continue to practice their rituals and preach the gospel?…

I chose to help my local humane society construct a room for cats, improve their exterior walking path, and fix landscaping around a deck. Perception of faith is contextual: Congregational settings in different parts of the world preach and teach theology in a way that is directly or indirectly related to their culture. This also means that theology in various faith settings is entirely different to the other and relative to the understanding of ideology of practice of one’s faith. The practice of Christianity in different parts of the word is somehow connected to the sociological aspects of evangelism. As one is aware of the fact that, faith is received differently by all humans, whether an individual or a group, it is also important to be reminded that individuals and groups bear a certain understanding of a faith with respect to their hope of practicing it. With such a claim, one would also want to emphasize on the aspect of practicing one’s faith “in a certain way.”…
