As a senior Sports Management major, about to graduate, I look back on my college career and wonder where the time has gone. As I reflect on my past educational experiences, I have come to realize that it is my family and passion for sports that have influenced my career choice. My mom and dad both taught at the same high school where my father served as the athletic director. I attended games and athletic events with my dad since I was a child. Watching him perform the different aspects of his job was intriguing and appealing to me and eventually was the seed for my interest in sports. One of my career goals is to work in sports, either at the college or high school level.
My only sibling is my sister, who is ten years older than I am. I followed her athletic career through high school, where she was a stand- out cross country runner and also ran track and played softball. The two clubs that I was most involved in were Student Council and Interact club. The Interact club’s main objective was to help the community with activities such as coat drives, toys for tots and blood drives. The student council worked on events such as spirit week, winter formal, ice cream social, and the end of the year picnic. Most of these events involved helping others and making high school enjoyable for everyone. I learned planning and leadership skills by being a part of these organizations. The skills that I learned through these experiences were a good foundation as I moved to the college level where I was able to better my skills through classwork and real life

I not only represented my school varsity, but also sports clubs outside of school, which led me to compete in several local and international tournaments. As well as my passion for sports, I grew into my passion for service; service for others and for my school, partaking in clubs and community service activities, each endeavor playing a role in the development of my abilities and expansion of my potential…
