Reflective Essay: Managing Work, Family, And School

First of all I would like to start by saying that this journey to earn my degree has been challenging as I have to manage work, family, and school all at the same time without lacking interest in any of the topics. It has especially become challenging because my work at this point of my career is demanding a lot of traveling which makes it somewhat difficult to stay on top of my education. I have been fortunate enough to count with good support from my family which allows me to maintain on top of my work and school schedule. I am currently in my last semester of school and feel extremely excited to achieve my degree and start working in the field of law enforcement. I anticipate this course to fit into the rest of the courses I have taken by enriching my knowledge in the administration part of my career. Planning is a big part of law enforcement no matter what agency I choose to take part in, I can honestly say that my current job title as correctional officer demands a …show more content…
I would have to say the most challenging course I have taken was the first course of my first semester which was Theory of Criminal Justice and this became a challenged for me because there was a lot of writing involved. Writing has never been my strongest, but at the end of the course I was able to identify my weakness and strengths while writing a report or an essay. The one course which was enjoyable and even though there was quite a bit of writing as well was a course I took about Juvenile Justice and the Community. I would like Juvenile Justice to be my main focus after graduation and if I could work something like juvenile probation that would be awesome because sometimes all a juvenile needs is some guidance to straighten up their
