My Accounting professor once said: Life is like Accounting, even it is hard to be balanced, and we still try to make it balanced no matter what.

Hello, I am Maryta Oeun, and I am a senior in Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting. Today, I am going to talk about my short term and long-term goals, my career goal, and the three important skills that I need to fulfill in order for me to achieve my future goal.

First of all, let’s me tell you about my short term goal, my short term goals are to maintain my 4.0 GPA, to pass my CPA exam, and to earn my Master Degree in Accounting at Cal Poly State University, San Luis Obispo, and I expect to achieve all of these goals before I reach the age 30.

According to The U.S Bureau of Labor Statistics, it projects that there will be 13.1 percent job growth rate in the areas of accounting and auditing until 2022.

However, there are three sets of skills that I need to achieve in order for me to become an outstanding public accounting for my firm as well as my clients, and those three skills are: strong communication skill, strong leadership skill, and organization and time management skill.

First, As a Certified Public Accountant, I need to have a strong communication skill because chances are good that I will work with a lot of different departments and clients on my daily basis, however, some people that I communicate with may not have strong knowledge about accounting as I do. Since accountants are important individuals to businesses, and we have a lot of responsibilities such as keeping records for my clients in a proper manner, it requires me to have a strong organization skill for my work. So I can finish my job for my client on time. Moreover, good time management is also a tool for me to manage my work efficiently. To become a productive accountant, I have to have a strong time management skill because it is the ability to work with a tight deadline during busy season.

As a result, in order for my to become a successful certified public accountant, it is important for me to have a strong set of skills, and there are three essential skills that I need such as: good communication skill, strong leadership skill, and organization and time management skill. I hope that after I graduate from California State University, Fresno, I can be able to exile in all of these three skills, and become a strong leader with effective communication skills as well as to become a strong candidate for my future employers and
