Introduction
It is crucial that in order for myself to reach my ultimate career goal of becoming a Human Resources Manager in a large firm, that I personally develop myself to be especially rich in intrapersonal, interpersonal and organizational effectiveness. These skills play a critical role in all businesses in today’s society REFERENCE. Firstly, I must understand the prominence these skills have within the workplace and develop myself in order to succeed in the future.

This portfolio will assess my intrapersonal effectiveness, through use of the Big Five Dimensions of Personality: NEO IPIP Test. The results of these five dimensions will be carefully assessed, with reference to my strengths and weaknesses within the five areas. SMART goals will then be developed to ensure I am well on my way to reaching my career goal.
Intrapersonal Effectiveness
Intrapersonal effectiveness is defined as ‘understanding yourself and improving self-management skills, such as time management and stress management.’ (De Janasz, Wood, Gottschlk, Dowd & Schneider, 2006, p.3). These are the life skills we all use in some form each day, to communicate and interact with other people, whether it is individually or in group format. Employers often seek to hire staff with 'strong interpersonal skills '. This is due to the fact that employers want people who will work well in a team and are able to communicate effectively with colleagues, customers and clients.
