Field Experience Essay To Study

I have always enjoyed a challenge. It gives me the opportunity to discover something new about myself. It started when I was chosen to represent my school in the city’s math Olympiad. Later on, the challenges continued when I had to represent Albania in an international math project Olympiad. Yes, there were challenges, but I was still in my comfort zone. I owned math. Yet my biggest challenge was when I moved to the states at the age of 18 to study, and I completed my college degree in 4.5 years. I transferred two different times before graduating from NYU-Poly and I took a gap of 1.5 year to support myself financially.
Throughout my college years, I had multiple jobs that ranged from tutor, custodian, salesperson, and finally working for the DOT with my civil engineering degree. That was a very rewarding experience. I was part of the steel installation team where we had to supervise contractors and issue payments. Besides giving me vital field experience, this position taught me the importance of team work. Every aspect of this experience helped me to develop as an individual with an “I can do it” mindset. Honors committee, As long as I can remember I have sought challenges in academics. Until only recently I didn't know why I pushed myself as hard as I have in school, but now I understand it is because I truly love learning. For me, discovering something new or unknown, teaching myself a new skill, or learning more about the world around me is one of the most gratifying things in my life. This is part of why I think I should be admitted into the honors program here at the University of Iowa. As a young child I was insatiably curious, asking my mother questions ad nausea, never satisfied with simple answers.…

After graduating high school, I had no intention of purposefully participating in anymore advanced or gifted or honors classes, anything more rigorous than normal was ultimately not on my radar. After all, these are the type of classes I had known my entire school career. Nonetheless, I was slightly disappointed when I found out that students were invited to join the honors college on immediate acceptance to Georgia State and I had not been one of those lucky souls. But I figured it was for the best at the time.…

My cultural field experience was attending a Buddhist Meditation meeting. This was out of my typical culture for two reasons; first, I am Christian, not Buddhist, and two, I have not ever meditated or even witnessed someone meditating to my knowledge. I will admit that I generally look on meditation as a waste of time that can be used to complete something constructive. I was a bit nervous about attending as it was an experience I was completely unfamiliar with and I had no idea of what to expect.…
