They are trying to define what clean and sterile really means also involving if a sterile technique aids in wound healing. The benefits of using clean techniques are less costly and take less time while the disadvantages are inclusive. Research is unsure if infections are a higher risk with the clean technique (Wound, Ostomy and Continence Nurses Society, 2016, ¶ 19). However, I believe a sterile technique should be used for all wound dressing whether they are invasive dressing or not. A clean glove is sitting in a box open to the air, while a sterile glove is sealed shut in a package. I would not want to risk anything getting onto that wound and causing an infection. The only way to further evaluate this issue is to continue to research but first deciding on what a clean technique and a sterile technique mean along with trial and
