Managing time can be a big obstacle when you have tendency to say yes to most everything a person ask you to do for them. Saying yes has got me into trouble with managing my time and having too much on my plate. But, I think that if I make a list of priorities, make an action plan according to my priorities, and having an accountability partner can help the obstacle of time management become less. One other obstacle I see in the future is not volunteering and making my brand known. A solution to this would be updating my resume with volunteer work and find those people that can help get connections within my community.…
Throughout the years my vision for what I would do for the rest of my life has changed over time (as it does with all children and young adults.) I would look into the future and see myself floating in space, fighting criminals, or owning my own business. While the later option still remains a goal of mine, the formers have dissipated away into Oblivion. As I matured and developed I realized how important family was in life. Not just close relatives, but ancestors as well.…

Shortly after joining the Rhode Island National Guard, I realized that becoming an Army Officer would be my chosen career path. During Basic Combat Training, I had the opportunity of being squad leader. I was in charge of making sure my soldier were on time, in the right place, and wearing the correct uniform. I would take the blame for any deficiencies, and I would try harder as a leader to make sure that we were up to standard for the next formation. I excelled at this challenge.…
After I have learned and read time management on Mindtools website, I am trying to change my habit to quadrant 2 (Q2). I choose “To do list” to move myself to Q2. In conclusion, time management is really useful in a lifetime, because we know what we have spent time for, and what our spending time is it useful or waste time. This paper will be an introduction into the behind the scenes of what people thinking of becoming officers should know, the way they speak, the way they crack cases, etc. Most of the nation receives their information on law enforcement from television. That’s why I knew the Maranda rights by heart before I was even 12. Law and Order, Criminal Minds, NCIS, and shows similar to this are why some enter into the law enforcement field they want to be like the famous profilers that solve cases in one hour plus commercials. Yes, I was one of the people that first want to become an officer because of television, nevertheless that is how society learns.…
The choice of time over money is one I think a lot of people make. It is also one that I think a lot of people make incorrectly. My time is valuable, whether I am at work or not I have a limited amount of it and there are just some things that I do not think it is worth me spending time doing. For an example, the eating out option. I cost me anywhere from $5 to $12 for lunches normally.…
