I would like to focus on childhood obesity and the connection this condition has with metabolic disorders such as diabetes, PCOS, etc. I personally suffered from such diseases during my childhood and experienced first hand the effects that they have on the body, both physically and emotionally. I would like to combine my personal experiences in combination with my educational background to educate youth on how to prevent the development of these diseases. Kaplan University can help me attain my career goals by making sure I am well prepared for my profession upon graduation. This preparation would entail services such as providing me with job interview tips, resume critique, and academic support during my courses. A health educator must be able to identify problems and solve them, so courses that involve critical thinking would be beneficial to my success and attaining my goals. I will have my Bachelors of Science Degree in Health Science, obtained from Kaplan University, and also have passed the CHES and gained national certification as a health educator. I will have implemented a program that teaches diet and fitness tips for children diagnosed with juvenile diabetes.
