My Car-Personal Narrative

I was rushing to get to a morning club meeting, so I quickly gathered up all of my things and stuffed it in my backpack and hurried to my car. I was on my way out the neighborhood when I realized I forgot something at home. So, logically I had decided that I would make a quick U- Turn back home to grab what I had left. One thing that I had noticed over the past year is that there is always a big blue pickup truck parked right at the entrance of my subdivision. I only had my license for a couple months but a simple U-Turn seemed easy enough. So I hit the brakes on my car, checked all my mirrors for any cars or pedestrians, when I saw that I was clear, I turned my wheel and put my car in reverse. I was a little worried about the tight space between my car and the big blue truck, but I decided to put my car in drive and I slowly turned my car, and as I did, I heard the slight screeching sound of metal scraping metal. As I continued to turn my car, I realized that the …show more content…
That whole entire day all I could think about was how, my accident was going to send my family’s car insurance through the roof. My dad didn’t stay mad at me for too long because he too, was more worried about that this would do to our insurance. I was hopeful that the owner’s might agree to my family paying out of pocket for the damages that I had caused instead of doing this through our insurance. The next day my dad told me that the owner of the truck’s mother had contacted him. I was anxious to find out what sort of agreement they had come to. My dad explained to me that the lady’s son was the owner of the truck, and she was understanding of the situation, the lady explained that she has children driving as well, and one of her kids had a couple months prior had received a speeding ticket, so she knew what it was like dealing with new drivers. She told my dad that she would like to speak with me whenever I get free

On a beautiful clear morning of February the 19th, my mom picked me up from my class at the University of West Georgia, then we went to Waffle House to have a nice breakfast. We left from Waffle House, proceeding down Maple Street, and turned onto South Street and immediately onto Kenner Street. We then turned onto on the merging lane on South Park Street (US Hwy 27) heading south, we immediately halted to a full stop as vehicles moved from the middle lane into the merging lane in front of us, but at that time there were no vehicles behind us. As we waited to enter traffic, a car suddenly struck us from behind which caused the car to jerk violently forward, causing my mother’s chest to hit the steering wheel, and our heads and bodies to whip forward and then back.…

I ride because I was thought that you need to be active in life, but it was never about the one hour of activity time we are supposed to have growing up. it was much more than that. I didn't need help to ride, I needed help to face down my enemies, or conquer my dreams.…

I am equally sure that it has taken years of my dad’s life from the stress I have induced. If I didn’t learn how to drive this morning, I would have to cancel picking up my girlfriend later that evening. I could imagine myself calling her up and saying, “I am sorry to inform you but I can’t drive my car because I killed my dad and broke the vehicle because I am stupid.” This was not a call I was not prepared to make. I put my foot down firmly on what I now knew was the clutch, then put it into 1st.…

My first car was something that I greatly was looking forward to getting as a child and my interest in getting one grew, as the days got closer to my sixteenth birthday. The first car I owned was a Automatic Black 2004 Ford f-150 truck, which I discovered on a website called Craigslist. It was priced at five thousand nine hundred dollars with only eighty-four thousand miles on it, which in my case was great considering that I could only afford a seven thousand dollar car. The truck came with all manual locks and windows and also had a small amount of hail damage that could really only be seen at a certain angle. But even with reasonable price on the truck I still attempted to negotiate for an even lower price to further my luck.…
