My Calling Is Affecting My Career

Not to my surprise I scored low in the first to answers of the self-assessment. Having a calling to a particular kind of work and good understanding of my calling as it applies to my career. At this point in my life due to personal changing affecting my career, I knew, I didn’t know where I was standing. Neither whether the path I’m on it is the correct one or as the assessment says the one I’m calling for it. In the other hand even with the exhaustion I’m on it right now, I do want to have a reason in life. I do want to have a calling, which is the reason I decide to come back to school. By doing so I expect to figure out my calling in the career I select and keep researching so I can be better. Is not easy to find yourself when you are in …show more content…
I love helping others by sharing my knowledge and expertise. Through sharing my knowledge and skills, I don’t only get satisfaction, but learn to understand other as well as how to communicate politely with any level of understanding. I learn moreover how to be patient and respectful, even if they are from different backgrounds. Also I realize that my weaknesses are sabotaging myself and filling my life with other activities (Johnson, 2016). Those weaknesses don’t allow me to execute my calling. Furthermore I realized by reading chapter 2 that my current circumstances personal and professional have influence in my calling.

However my condition shouldn’t be a reason for me to stop. I should redirect myself, and work with my situation by giving my calling a new purpose within my situation. What I mean by this, is to recreate my scenario and see how I can apply my calling into my new situation. For instance if I’m not working as it’s the case, I can provide help by volunteering in places such as school to share my knowledge. This is ethically right and bring satisfaction to myself.
