My Birthday Gift

In February I decided that I wanted to go up north with my fiance for his birthday in June. I started to save up most of my money from my paycheck. Most of the money that I got I would either put into my account for college or into my account for the trip. In the daytime when I wasn’t working or at school I would work on the birthday gift for my boyfriend. The gift I have in mind for him is a wood box with a slit cut into it so we could put pictures in it. I had my uncle cut the wood to the size I need it to be. After I got the wood back I found out they were measured wrong but I would fix it. I started to take one of my pocket knifes to cut the wood to the right since I have no saw. I drilled some holes across the line where the wood was remeasured …show more content…
After the measuring I screwed the wood pieces together except the top piece. I took the top piece and cut the slit out the same way as I did the other pieces. I made sure to sand down the sharp part after having a friend bring me sandpaper. After months of working on the box I finished. I printed up pictures and painted the box. Once the paint was dried I sprayed it with mod podge gloss. I put pictures of me and my boyfriend in and then I put the box into a cardboard box to wrap up. A couple of weeks after finishing the box it was almost time for the trip. I had the days off for the trip but I had found out that my boyfriend did not have the days off. Since he didn’t have the days off I went and asked my one friend. She said she would go. After I told her that she had to bring some kind of money because I didn’t want to spend all seven hundred dollars that I had saved up for me and my boyfriend on the trip she told me that she wouldn’t go with me. I finally decided to go with the one friend even if she kind of irritated me. I messaged her and asked if she would go and if she could if she would bring as much money as she could. The next day she messaged me back saying that she could and that she would ask her dad if he could give her some money. It came the the day before the trip and I had messaged her all of the details for the trip. I set an alarm to wake me up around six in the morning to get me breakfast. After putting the last of my stuff in the car and eating I went down to Saint George from Hurricane to pick up my friend. Once I finally woke her up we left to go to Salt Lake City. First we drove to Panguitch because I promised a friend I would meet up with him to say hi since we hadn’t seen each other in a long time. Once it was getting later in the day we left to go to Ferron even if I didn’t get to say hi to my friend. Once we arrived to my cousins in Ferron we stopped the trip for the day.
