I recall being so tired and my bed feeling so soft, and cozy that I didn’t want to get up. But I found myself laying there and reflecting on my past fourteen years of school. I the feeling inside me was unexplainable, so many mixed emotions. I recalled the bullying and chastising that I had received, as many kids do in today’s world. I began to feel anger towards those had done me so wrong, hoping that by chance they would be at my big event today. The angrier I felt inside the more motivation I gained. It was my day today, it was the day I had worked so hard to prove everyone wrong, I was going to graduate and show everyone how I successfully overcome the learning disability that I was cursed with. As I was getting ready, I recalled wanting everything just perfect, my hair, my dress and even right down to my shoes. As I was in the bathroom getting ready I looked into the mirror, and felt such a pride about myself as if I was the only one that would be graduating today, even though I would be with all one hundred plus …show more content…
My classmates and I slowly entered the coliseum, to pomp and circumstance. My eyes began to tear up, I did it I am actually graduating high school. As I looked into the audience I could see my entire family, and my grandparents. They were smiling with such pride. This is when I realized how important this day was to all of us, not just myself. My family had been there through it all, pushing me to complete this goal. As we were seated and the principal began to talk, my hands began to sweat, my legs were shaking with fear. I was about to walk across the stage in front of hundreds of people. I recall thinking, please don’t let me fall, make sure I shake with the proper hand, I kept telling myself, “you got this”. Then suddenly my focused was pulled to the speech coming from the large speakers, I heard my name. The principal had given me special recognition for being the outstanding vocational student of my class! I was speechless, I felt as if I couldn’t breathe, I looked in the stands and watched my mom wipe away tears, tears of joy and happiness. Now it was my turn as I approached the stage I had a warm feeling overcome my body, I felt so weak as if my legs may not carry me across the stage. When I walked up the steps my legs felt as if they weighed a hundred pounds, surprisingly I was able to make it to the stage.

Success has powers that can take control of us in both positive and negative ways. Margaret Mead explains that success is great, it's the winning prize, but it can also affect us in many ways. She also explains that with being successful, we feel threatened by others who are more successful than us. Lastly, she says that Americans are confused with being successful and how we should react. I agree with Mead because success can come with positive outcomes, but it can also come with negative outcomes such as:/ No one cares how they get successful all they want is to get successful and how others envy others with different types of success.…

Wise Money Choices + College Costs = Minimal Stress I cannot believe I have made it this far this quickly. It feels like just yesterday when I was accepting my diploma from Mr. Salvatore, my middle school principal and crying while hugging friends who I knew would be attending a different high school than I. Then, on that hot September day, walking through what I thought must have been the biggest school in the state of New Jersey, I got lost, made new friends, and college was but a dwarfed blip on my radar, far, far away from the center of my mind. Subsequently, in tenth grade, Union High School became smaller and my excitement for graduation was planted by the upperclassmen’s conversations about the upcoming prom and graduation.…
