“And be one traveler long I stood,” they both had to work hard and make hard decisions to get to the places they wanted to go. Sotomayor had two roads she could take as well, to become a lawyer/judge, or to give up on her dreams to serve justice in any way she could. You can guess what

Sonia Sotomayor was in the position of the narrator from “The Road Not Taken”. She had to make the decision on what road to take. Both characters were in the process of making a decision that would impact their life dramatically and both had to think hard and work around things they were trying to avoid. The narrator from “The Road Not Taken” and Justice Sotomayor seem to look back at that moment in the future and see how it affected everything. Sonia seems happy with her decision to be a lawyer and the narrator from “The Road Not Taken” has an unknown opinion of the path he took, but overall I now know that the similar theme in both passages, are decision making and having an outcome.…

Did you find his use of history effective or persuasive? First of all, Coates defines “slavery” as an enslaved black female that has been has been tortured and brainwashed by her oppressors; broken-down into a sense of hope for her future generation to rise above the calamity that was the forefront of her fate (Coates 70).…

The Road by Cormac McCarthy is a novel that diverges from the customary standards regarding format of how a novel is written. McCarthy tends to ignore the usage of quotations and apostrophes and also writes in a splintered fashion especially in the beginning of the book adding the tone of minimalistic times. He never reveals the name of the characters and only refers to them as The Boy and The Man as it is written in third person omniscient though it often seems as if the novel was written in first person which adds to the idiosyncrasy of the novel. On the contrary The Road is extremely detail oriented which immensely contributes to the overall theme and tone of the book in addition to putting the reader in the characters shoes. The Road is a fiction piece about a post apocalyptic desolated world centered around a boy and a man trying to fight through constant fear and inhumane…
