What was your contribution in this project?

For our group assignment, I took a place of researching the reason for collapse of My baby Warehouse. During the researching time, I found that Gwen, one of the group members was struggling to find the data about ethical issue, at that time I shared my knowledge I have got from my work and supplemented her information. For the ppt slides, the original plan was making the slides respectively and combined it later. However, because each slide was made by different people, it looked to messy and not orderly arranged. Thus, I combined the slides collected from others and adjusted the formant. I also added extra data and pictures to supplement the contents.

In addition, once the plan settled into shape, everything went smoothly because all the group members have done their jobs in time. However, since everyone has different background and personality, each person has a different view of the problem so sometimes we found difficulty to associate the ideas together. It was also hard to divide the part in a fair way because basically the tasks given for us were five but there are only four people in one group. If the parts were divided in a wrong way, some people would think they were doing more jobs and that is why we had spent many times to distribute the …show more content…
Firstly, I have improved my communicating skills through the group work because the basics of all group work were finally related to the communication. In the process of exchanging ideas, I could have learned how to deliver my word effectively and how to comprehend the intention in others' words.
In order to get the best result, we should be able to look at the work from a critical point of view. During practicing the presentation, we had exchanged the feedback of about each other's performance such as correcting the words in the script or removing the wrong information in slides. Therefore, this experience helped me to learn how to get a critical thinking and see the negative side.
As I mentioned earlier, because of the nature of group task which is gathering different opinions from each other, sometimes it was inevitable to face small conflicts. However, as a result, by solving these kind of small problems, I was able to learn how to resolve the conflicts.

The main challenge of this group situation is that there was a sudden rise of conflict among members at the beginning to mid phase of the project. This resulted the possible development of groupthink (Janis, 2008). As a leader in this situation, I would firstly feel lousy and disappointed in myself that I didn’t take note of group’s division and how the meeting could be more inclusive of everyone’s opinion (Chadha, 2016). However, at that point, I would also probably feel confused but yet curious as to why it was suddenly voiced out, hence thought that I should facilitate to explicit the thoughts and feelings of each member to better understand as well.…

“WAREHOUSE EMPIRE” SUMMARY AND REFLECTIONS. This article by Jessica Garrison, is an illustration of the reality we live in and yet, sometimes we don’t notice it. I think they couldn’t have chosen a better name for this article because it describes things the way they are: An empire of warehouses. The article talks about how warehouses are taking over Moreno Valley and Miraloma cities in the inland empire and how that is related in some cases to corruption.…

First, what worked well was how our group integrated our individual skills together to complete the project. When we introduced ourselves and what our concentrations were, it was easy to determine what roles and responsibilities we would take on. We worked individually on our tasks before meeting together and integrating everything into the final product. The problems that arose primarily concerned communication and scheduling group meetings.…

Remember the Titans is the story about a football team coach who tries to unite a racially divided team. The movie focuses on how a black head coach leads the newly formed black and white members of the team to achieve its goal despite the group members differences in their behavior and color. The highlight point of the movie was the challenges that the leader and the members had to face by coming together as a multi-racial team and working for the success. This movie is the perfect example for different group development stages as it displays us how the team had to experience the forming, storming, norming, performing and adjourning phases to come out as a superior team.…

For me the activity of working as a group especially with other individuals who I have not worked with or talked to before was a good learning experience that had both positive and negative outcomes using Driscoll’s model of reflection as a frame work to elaborate on how I interpreted what happened, what impact the situation had on me and what I will do in the future if presented with a similar situation (Driscoll and Teh, 2001). We were required to do a 10 minute presentation for a health promotion project that we developed. I decided to work with other individuals who I didn’t know and have not worked with before as I believed I would be more productive and respectful if I worked with people I didn’t know very well. For the first tutorial…

As an emergency room nurse my mind is hard wired to treat patients as quickly as possible and have them vacate to an admissions bed or back home. The acute care environment can be so hectic that looking past a patient’s discharge instructions can easily be over looked. An emergency room nurse regardless of her or his acute care mindset still knows how to apply the nursing process to any plan of care at hand and it is no different to a plan of continuous care in a patient’s home. The key is sending home a plan formulated in conjunction with the input of the same medical professionals and support staff that took care of the patient in the first place. Nurses are no longer moving towards a care process of just following orders, yet as partners…

Whenever working on a team, with different opinions, there is always going to be conflict or disagreement within a group. Now disagreement has a way of either making the team work better, or the disagreement could cause the team to break down if certain viewpoints are not resolved. A cognitive conflict disagreement is a difference of opinion. For instance, a cook with a certain food contracted company has the task of cooking the dinner meal for 240 residents at a nursing home.…

While I was working in my group I learned a lot about talking with other groups. One major thing that learned was that compromises were and still are very important in almost everything that we do. I learned that working in a group with a big project like that is very important so that we could all have different inputs and ideas to go off of. When each group member gives an input it will be better that if only one person thinks about it. Than it may not have all of the information needed.…

The learning experience that I have chosen to discuss about is preparing for the poster presentations. During this experience, I had to identify and explain the benefits and challenges of inter- professional practice. This was the question that me and my group were given, and we had to deliver it in a presentation format to an audience, which was my class. To go about doing this, I had use and deliver a range of skills and apply it to practice in order to prepare for the presentation. According to Kolb’s Experimental Learning Cycle, (1984), it articulates in the first stage about concrete experience, where me and my group were assigned a task, which consisted of active involvement.…

Introduction In this reflection, I will focus on some important topics such as, what I learned about individual and business taxation from this course, what was my experience with the group project and what were the challenges that I faced during both the group project and this course. I am also going to add some main overall points that I learned. Tax is generally an amount of money that is charged by a government on a product, income, or activity so that it can pay for public services. In addition, there are several very common types of taxes: • Income Tax (a percentage of individual or corporate earnings filed to the government) • Sales Tax (taxes charged on certain goods and services) • Property Tax (taxes charged on the value of land…
