Pre-K Autobiography

My education started when I was just three years old, sitting between my parents on their bed, reading - or at least trying to - the HOP (Hooked On Phonics) books. It was our nightly routine all through Pre-K. By the time that I was in Kindergarten we had worked our way up to the Magic Tree House stories, Junie B. Jones, and The Chronicles of Narnia books, and so many more. My parents made sure that they started to teach me skills that I would need for school at a young age. From reading books every night, to practicing math while calculating carbohydrate counts and insulin dosages for my diabetes, I took in all the knowledge that I could, like a sponge. It was in fourth grade that I took over the blood glucose testing and day to day diabetes care in the classroom. Diabetes had been such a big part of my life, since I had it since I was two years old, and it was in this time of my life that I took more responsibility for it. Also in the fourth grade everyone was given the opportunity to write a short book. For my book I wrote a number of short poems, along with a short story that was about finding a key to heaven. I remember that having that book published seemed like my biggest accomplishment up to that …show more content…
I feel that my time in those three grades was the starting point for the path that I am on now. In fourth grade I realized that I liked teaching my fellow students, and in fifth grade I found out about the University of Farmington from my teacher, Ms. Shea. It was at that age that I my goal was set, I was going to be a teacher. I remember falling in love with the idea of the school and the opportunities that I thought it would give me. In sixth grade I looped with my first grade teacher, Ms. Cloutier, and took advance of my last year of elementary school to prepare myself for what Junior High had to offer

Seventh grade, my second year now at what I thought to be the worst school in the world. On back to school night I met a man who would change my perspective on life completely, that man being Brandon Lilly. Henry Adams once said “A teacher affects eternity; he can never tell where his influence stops.” At a mere five-foot four he appeared to be a kid minus the burly lumberjack beard that he possessed. I remember being skeptical at first because I had never had a male teacher before.…

This was the year that allowed to discover that although I wanted to pull my hair out maybe a good 100 times, my class taught me that there is no better thing in life than making others happy and having the ability to surround yourself with those smiles. I realized that even by the smallest role, I can make a difference, and I knew that I wanted to do that for the rest of my life. This experience shaped out what I wanted out of life--…

Tycianna Caldwell Reynolds ENGL 1010-01N 8 Oct. 2015 Taken for Granted: America We as individuals are very quick to look only at the bad sides of situations. We are sometimes only able to see the things that we do not have and overlook the things that we do. We take for granted things like freedom, equality, and being able to gain an education. Many forget that these things are not guaranteed to others that live in different places. I realized how fortunate I am to live in America when I met someone from another country.…

I remember how cool it felt to be able to leave the room without asking to go to the bathroom. I also remember teaching us about why structure was important by dancing on the desks, and kicking books everywhere, and that was an awesome year. Third Grade was when we learned a lot, and we had Ms. Massen. She was a pretty cool teacher, and gave me a lot of good books. Me and Tyler read a lot of Percy Jackson Books that year.…

Sophomore year is a tie with junior year on being probably the most enjoyable years in high school. Tenth grade was so relaxing because you at least had one year under your sleeve, which made life a little easier. One of my most memorable moments was second semester in Mr. Prina’s class when we played the Super Power game. This game really tested friendships and classmates trust in eachother. My group did really well, but the amount of work we put into some of the little games and activities was tiring and took a lot of hard work.…
