I will laugh at her and ask her if she has any wigs because of how many hairstyle changes she has every time I see her. She has a round tan face wit a small bump on her nose caused from her sleeping mask that helps her breath. She always loves to look her best and always has a fresh happy face. She never believed in makeup but will occasionally put some on for parties, or church service. I believe, even though she says she doesn’t, she secretly loves makeup. Her motto is that beauty is from the inside and we should always appreciate the face God gave us. I would always put her makeup on and put her shoes on to look just like her. She is chubby and is slowly on her way from recovering from her obesity. I love her motivation to become a better person not because of what the world tells her she needs to look like, but because she wants to become a better and healthy person. …show more content…

Taking a look at the grandmother, it is important to note her namelessness, because this characteristic signifies a deeper symbolic meaning. The story begins, “The grandmother didn’t want to go to Florida” (1). There are three unnamed characters in the story: the grandmother, the children’s mothers, and The Misfit. Throughout, the grandmother is referred to by her title in place of her name, which allows the reader to see the grandmother as an illustration of the typical person. Because of her namelessness, she comes to represent everyone, and her external and internal conflicts with vanity, control, and egotism represent the collective of humanity’s struggles.…

O’Connor throughout the story depicts the grandmother as a selfish and demanding character. O’ Connor describes her as trying to “manipulate her son, her insistence on dressing well so that people know she is a lady, and her superficial interactions with her grandchildren are funny but reveal her pride and pettiness” (Larson). The author appears to be signifying that the grandmother is trying to take all the attention and care only about herself. The grandmother’s actions of dressing well enough to be able to be told she was a woman if found suggest that she more worried about herself rather than her grandchildren and so on. O’ Connor adds “Now look here, Bailey, see here, read this, and she stood with one hand on her thin hip and the other…

For over 6,000 years, people have been criticizing others based on rumors heard or first hand experience. Many criticisms lead to persecution and ignorance from everyone involved in the situation. Similar to criticisms in modern society, judgments have lead to several persecutions and realizations in literature such as The Crucible and my personal life as well. People should judge others by their inner character, because when they do it brings out compassion; however, when people do not judge by inner character it brings outs qualities such as confusion and insecurity. Last February my friend Bethany showed compassion to her friend Peyton by bringing her to church and changing her life.…

Who am I? A question that would made you think well and might puzzle you out. Describing yourself is harder than describing someone because there are some areas in you that you are not certain of such as characteristics, personalities, and attitude.
