At the age of two I was diagnosed with asthma and I lost my sister. Asthma played an important role in my life I sometimes had asthma attacks at the middle of the day and night. One thing I remember as I got older is when I first went to a specialist, I remember getting my blood taken with a needle I called a butterfly shot. My mother and I came up with many nicknames for my treatments. My nebulizer was my penguin and my inhaler was my magic breath holder. With new agents reported each year for occupational asthma, more than 400 agents have been recognized to cause occupational asthma (Dumas, Laurent, Bousquet, Metspalu, Milani, Kauffmann, &Moual, 2014:648). The role of repeated low-to-moderate exposure to irritants in the onset of asthma has been found to contribute to the increasing evidence, which has clinical implications as irritants should be enormously considered as potential causative agents (Dumas et al, 2014:655). As a result, there are currently no clinical diagnostic criteria that allow the acknowledgment of new-onset-asthma to low irritant exposure in each individual patient in the workplace (Tarlo, 2013: 4&5).A total of 36 agents were found to cause allergic as well as irritant…
