My Argument- Therapy and coping is better for a person with PTSD then drugs. However too much therapy can work the same as a drug. A self-reliance instead of an outside reliance is the best. If there was an argument onto which is better. A person with PTSD will often use both as treatment, or one or the other. In the case of one or the other I feel therapy is the better choice, however it can work the same way if you take too much. My reason behind this is from experience and research when it comes to medication. All augments as mine have good points from both sides. In society, today drugs often get passed out very fast. This has been an issue with painkillers. People would get hooked on these drugs due to the opiates. The medical field may want to help, but also needs to make money. Drugs for PTSD are not necessary addicting, but they can become a necessity to function. What if they can find a way to function before using the medication?
Therapy is better than medication, however, that too can be negative if you overdose. Can you go once a month, or do you feel you need to go every week? Can you find a way to cope on your own? Be more independent in coping with this memory. Some people may not be able to. But I feel there are many out there who can and don’t need the drugs to do it. Being taught how to cope on your own. Fishing, playing sports, and other activities of relaxation or entertainment may naturally do what the medication is made to do.
The main audience is those with or those who are close to people with PTSD. One challenge is persuading the reader to take pursuit in testing my argument. Men and Woman that have PTSD due to a history of rape as a child is often not noticed. They may not even speak of it. If you don't want to come out and get help, research on how to turn your life around on your own. Are you depressed and down a lot, does the memory cause this, and how often does the memory come in a
