What Improved my Score in the Argumentation Paper Assignment? The writing class that I have completed this semester was very helpful to improve my writing skills. Going through the writing process in theory then apply it in multiple assignments was very useful to recognize my weaknesses and how to work to develop them. While writing my argument paper assignment, there were many factors helped to improve my score; I worked hard in outlining, build my argument and support it based on the rules to write an argument and conducting detailed proofreading for my paper. Outlining is one of the most important steps in writing a paper. I was not considering outlining before this class. I used to start writing without setting the preliminary thoughts which caused to have missing ideas in the article. It takes me to write many articles with unconnected ideas and flow to recognize how much the outlining make the writing assignment more focused and helped in better flow. The last step is the proof reading. It is hard task for writers to keep reading what they developed, but it is the step that might make the writer loses the credit of the good topic, ideas and strong argument just because there are a lot of grammar mistakes. The grading sheet grades the grammar and style in five levels; the worst is the errors that make the document unreadable, or vocabulary and word choice very limited. My score improved in the argumentation paper from five to eight because of the proofreading. During the proof reading I was able to catch the sentences fragments, subjects and verb agreements, avoided run-on sentences and checked the using of correct verb tenses. In addition to grammar mistakes proof reading helped catching the punctuation mistakes which might cause changing the meaning of the sentence if it not used
