For my course all that you would do is dissections and lab work; it would be from small things like frogs to potentially humans. In my course you get the opportunity to learn about the anatomy of a variety of living creatures. During the first week of the course you would learn about the basic anatomy of most living creatures, you would do this by conducting dissections individually and as a class. By getting a chance to see and touch what happens around, students would have a deeper understanding of the way that living creatures survive. During the second week students …show more content…
Students would get the opportunity to see how stem cells have the ability to become certain types of tissues and body parts through lab work inspired by Mario Capecchi. By conducting experiments, like Capecchi’s, students would get a first hand experience of how our bodies became what they are today. Not only would they be able to absorb the information, but they would get he opportunity to play with different things like homeoboxes and different proteins in genes, they might even go and explore CRISPR mechanisms. During the final weeks of the Block, students would go back to a traditional classroom where they would learn about the manipulation of genes and how it could potentially lead to therapeutic cloning. Students would be placed into groups and have a topic assigned to
