Commonly, society finds our culture too strict and calls them “tiger parents”. They believe all we want is to boast about our impressive education and prosperous careers. Those facts are not truthful. Because of their moral beliefs, it made the importance of education an extensive part of my background. Few of relatives were lucky to receive high school and college education. Consequently, my parents was not able to receive either. They started working day and night to support their families. They put all their money into education because it will lead to many great openings. They all want us to go to these prestigious schools and careers, so we don’t have to worry about suffering. I want to influence others about the million of stories that are related to mine. Many young adults who are about to enter college ranging from many cultures have the same story as I: The American Dream. I find their morals were passed to me. It might be risky taking a different route, but what I take in is their tradition. The future is going to be dealt with lots of hardships, but I am doing what I love. I believe adults should accept and recognize that. You should not push your children into your standards and make them unhappy. You should support your child to find their passion. The movie, The Pursuit of Happiness, defines the American Dream for my family, society, and myself. “Don’t ever let someone tell you that you can’t do something,” Will Smith said. “Not even me. You got a dream, you gotta protect it. When people can’t do something themselves, they’re gonna tell you that you can’t do it. You want something, go get it.
