We wanted everything in order before asking the question in hopes that he would say yes. Over the next year or so, we made several visits. We wanted to keep in touch with agency, and let the twins bond. Finally it was time for what would hopefully be the last visit. We were so anxious on the drive up. I could barely sit still. After what felt like days, we were back across the nation. This time we met him at the park. We brought a blanket and made a picnic. We wanted the day to be perfect.
The kids played for about two hours before I finally asked him the question. I called him and my daughter over and asked him, “Would you like to come live with us and your sister? Forever.” He had tears in his eyes. But they were accompanied by a smile. My daughter looked at us with a huge grin, she did not know about our idea. “YES!!” he yelled. “I want you to be my forever family.” The four of us came together and had the best group hug ever. We spent the next week packing his stuff and saying goodbye to his foster family. We got back on the road and started our long but final journey
