How To Evaluate An Action Plan

Action Plan Evaluation
When looking back on my action plan and how much of what we planned actually got done, I can see that as a class, we made an effort to stick to it – I just don’t think we made enough of an effort and I think we could have completed nearly everything when we planned to if we tried hard enough. On multiple occasions we moved dates forward because we hadn’t completed them. For example, on the 12th November, we were supposed to have auditions but we had to move that to the week beginning 19th November as we did not have enough people to audition yet. We as a class could have prevented this by sticking to our set timetable of who will be hosting sign-ups and when. Advertisements could have also been better by having more

Having a deadline there meant that we could at least try to come close to what we set date-wise. It did help us if you look at the action plan because you can see that we were never more than a couple of weeks outside of our deadlines – so we were still trying to keep close to what we said we would do. It also helped us keep track of our planning because we could plan backwards from the show itself and note down all of the important events that would need to be done by the night. Looking ahead to all of our plans helped us get an idea of what minor things we would need to do on the lead up to each big thing and it especially helped me with my advertisements as I could see what I would have to advertise and when. For example, as soon as we made our action plans we went straight to the end of the planning period to set a date for our show. This meant that not only did we have a clear goal to work towards as a class but we could work towards things within our individual job roles too – in my case I could work out how many different posters and other advertisements I would need to do and also the rough date they would need to go up around …show more content…
We could have spread everything out instead of having a lot of things having to be done all in one week – which was very stressful. One example of a very stressful week was the 4th February. In this week we had to host the dress rehearsal, sell tickets, take in requests from acts for the lights used during their performance, find out which acts needed a backing track and collect any letters concerning the rehearsal that hadn’t been collected in yet. Not only was that a stressful week but it was ridiculous in terms of how close to the show it all was. Considering the show was on Tuesday 12th February, to be doing all of this from the 4th is far too late. The only things we should have been doing that week would have been selling tickets and sorting out the letter for the dress rehearsal – which we should have had 90% of replies for by then (which we didn’t at all). Laura should have asked the acts for their preferences on colour of lights at least a week before then and Leyci should have had the backing tracks done by then, never mind asking people who needed them – which she didn’t even do as she wasn’t as the Sunday rehearsal, Erin did it for her. Also, we only had about five replies from the rehearsal letters and we started sending them out two weeks before that time – meaning we should have has nearly all of the replies by then. We could have solved

My boss asked when I can finish it. I had no idea how much it will take, so I just glossed over. I have since dressed up and remembered my belt, but it surprised me that I would forget it twice in a row, and makes me worry about going for job interviews and such. I also thought that the actual event was a week later than it was. I don’t really know why, but I thought the event was today, the 17th. It was a bit of a surprise when Heather posted on the Facebook page “Here is the final schedule for tomorrow!” and I had to do some research which confirmed that it was, in fact, the next day. I think I’m definitely ready for the holidays.…

Without planning and organizing in college, life is practically chaos. I quickly realized that you really cannot push things off in college because you’ll either forget about the assignment or you’ll be doing it last minute in a rush (and there will be a bunch of mistakes). I learned that the hard way, I once had a week to submit my journal for a class, but I put it off until the last minute, what were the odds that that day I had a flight at the same time the assignment was due, and I couldn’t submit it on time, so I got a big fat "F". The time between the beginning and the end of the semester is broken up by midterms, tests, quizzes, projects, work, and social life. That basically means that if there’s no schedule organized for homework, studying and reading the material, you’ll find yourself struggling to catch up.…

We all tried, but I think some of us took the project more seriously than others. Kevin was always late to our meetings event though when we created the team contract we agreed to be punctual unless there was an emergency. I doubt that there was an emergency every single week when we met. I think Amy and myself did most of the work, we had to assign work for Kevin and Shaohui to do otherwise they would not take the initiative to do something unless we asked them to do it which was frustrating because Kevin was supposed to be the project manager and it was his responsibility to make sure that we were doing our part and being the leader of the team. I am not saying that it was all his responsibility because we are all adults and can do our part, but what I am saying is that they were not behaving as adults.…

This time around, I built a foundation of accomplishment on what I already knew. I knew that I worked best when I could prepare in advance, but I also knew that I could not prepare for everything so I made modifications where acceptable. The next week’s long term goal challenged me to another level. I volunteered to complete an on the job function that I have never attempted before. In previous assessments and assignments I mentioned that there were some tasks of the job that I have never done and because of the lack of training, I tend to stress out about the job at hand and go into shut-down mode.…

Most people, myself included, will push off an assignment into the very last couple of hours when they might’ve had a whole week to do it. This causes a great deal of unneeded stress that could’ve been prevented. The idea is to start early and plan increments of time each day to work on an assignment so you won’t ever feel pressured to get it done in a small amount of time. Balancing a student’s personal and academic life can seem to be difficult at times, but it’s possible. A simple way to be able to keep your time management solid is to learn to delegate and say no.…
