My academic and professional journey began in August of 1997 while pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Political Science at Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University. As an undergraduate, I held a dedicated focus aimed toward a terminal degree with an interdisciplinary focus and a career as an agent of social change. My academic success over the years paralleled a passion for working with underserved populations. Since completing a bachelor’s degree, I have earned a Master of Arts in Conflict Resolution from Abilene Christian University, and dedicated over a decade serving as an educator, counselor, intermediary and advocate for children, youth, the aged and individuals with Special Needs.

The program offers pedagogy in subject matter relevant to my academic interests and career goals. Moreover, I am drawn to the course of study because of its international focus and opportunity for the real-world practicum experience. My vast experience in the field of human and social services, combined with my educational background serves as a solid foundation for earning a Ph.D. in International Psychology with an emphasis in Organizations and Systems. This combination provides the strong foundation to contour my future career goals and research interests. I believe that The Chicago School of Professional Psychology is a premier institution for an ambitious Ph.D. contender. As a recent graduate of a Master’s program, I’m aware and conversant with the rigors of graduate study. I am confident that I have the tools and the resolve to succeed in such a stimulating and challenging atmosphere. I want to continue evolving as a learner, scholar and citizen of the world, by refining my skill, knowledge and ability the navigate organizational theory and practice. I feel that my life experiences, as well as my commitment to education as well human and social services, would be an asset to the doctoral program in International Psychology.
