My Abusive Life

I am a 40 year old mother of 2 and grandmother of 3. I grew up in a severely abusive home that resulted in my placement in foster care. I was returned back into my mom's custody after 2 years. Due to unsafe conditions I moved out at 16 and never returned. I had my first child at 18 and my daughter at 20. I raised both of them alone. But I always dreamed of going back to school. But honestly i just thought I was never good enough. I was always told because none of my family was educated and I was a single mom I would never be educated myself. I then got married young and worked as a manger for numerous years,pushing my dreams aside. When I was finally able to get out of a severly abusive marriage and my children were 18 I then went back to school. …show more content…
I then realized not only did I like school I thrived on it! I then went straight into my A.A in Allied Health. I knew while obtaining my A.A that I loved health and nutrition and helping people. I then started lifting weights a lot,fell in love with health and fitness. When I was a teenager I suffered from eating disorders, and I knew if I helped one girl eat healthy it would mean the world to me. So then I enrolled into Keiser University as Bachelor in Sports Medicine. I love the program, it has amazing professors and I learn so much! When I graduate I would like to help teen athletes and work with teenage girls. I would like to help these girls do the sports they want,also eating healthy and learning to love the skin they are in! I plan to do my externship at the YMCA, I believe I will have amazing oppurtunities
