The Muslim religion takes up roughly 1% of the entire population of the United States of America. In todays world Muslims are often discriminated for the foundations of their religion, and are usually found fault with the actions of Radical Islam. The majority of Muslims emigrate from the Middle east to ensure the safety of their families from Radical Islamists. Many United States citizens do not understand that the majority of people who are getting blamed for these acts of terror are equally fearful of the Radicals. Mohammad Jaber falls in the 1% of muslims in the United States. He endures everyday struggles, but finds ways to live a happy life in a catholic school and cope with the unnecessary discrimination him and his family faces. “911

“Many of the students don't understand the Muslim religion, and they continue to harass me ignoring their lack of knowledge for the religion.” Moody said. Moody continues to explain how discrimination occurs on campus with the students, but mostly in a joking matter. Although many of his friends are the ones teasing him, it is still bothersome because they don't know about anything happening in the Middle East or with the Muslim Americans. Moody explained how he learned to master ignoring the kids who make snarky jokes about his religion. “ Its not just the students that have been unreasonable to me at my experience at NDP,” he said. Difficult to say the administration has broken rules in the handbook regarding Moody. Although these issues have already been dealt with, it is embarrassing to say that some faculty and staff at a Catholic school cannot have the same respect for his religion that he has for theirs. “At first I was frustrated and couldn't believe what was happening, but luckily my family and I was able to confront the source and put an end to the nonsense. Since then I haven't had any issues,” he said. Moody has forgiven those, in the faculty department of Notre Dame, who had treated him unfairly, and wishes it will never happen
