Music Revolution: The American Dream

In my time frame of the American dream, life is behind an electronic screen and being social with people is through technology. Political issues have raised the technology use to the top, and made a huge change in the 2000s. The revolution of arts shows everything that got created and by looking as it is now today and how much different it used to be. It shows not everything stays the same, things change and gets higher improvement throughout the years. Communication with technology has improved a whole lot just to make this world safer, and to avoid anymore terrorist threats/actions. “The growth of the internet contributed to globalization during the decade, which allowed faster communication among people around the world.” (Wired)

As soon as apple released the Ipod, a lot of people went out of their way to buy and start listening to music from there instead of going out and getting CDs traditionally. This affected record companies/stores and even CD’s/tapes. People went out of business and music online was the new thing, the popularity also decreased a whole lot. It was known as a “shortcut” or “easy way out” of doing things. “In 2001 was the start of the Apple Ipod. Consumers could legally purchase the music they loved on Itunes for .99 cents per song. In 2005 digital music accounted for 6% of all music sales.” (Robson 39) This made a lot of people happy knowing they can listen to their music portably and started to make technology super easy for people to use. It has made the biggest impact in the 2000s, everyone is getting the smart phones and is using it for everything. “In the 2000s, telephone communication got bigger, the phones transformed large, chunky phones into sleek, small devices. They were capable of performing bigger and higher tasks than ever before. “ (Robson 41) As the smartphones spread, the more people hid behind them. Everything got so much easier by using a small device, people start to lose focus on what is happening in the real world. The innovations in the way people connected with others and organized their lives changed the way the world lives, plays, works, and communicates. Technology became a very convenient access for people, but it is taking away real life from people.
