Music Production

People love to listen to music. It is a part of everyone’s lives. It is proven that without music every now and then, a person can become depressed. I, however, love to create the music that the people listen to. I do not do it for fame or because I feel forced to, but rather because it is one of my true passions.
One reason why music production is my true passion is because I am allowed to be creative and express my artistic ideas. My music production software acts as my paint canvas when it comes to an artistic point of view. It is as if I am able to create anything I would like to with this open “paint canvas” in front of me. An example of me being able to express my artistic ideas and be creative is sound designing. When I sound design,

When I started music production, I did not know much about computers or how to operate the software that I purchased for three hundred dollars. Instead of letting the software become a waste of time and money, I studied every aspect of the software I had purchased and learned how to create my first track. The software that I purchased was Fruity Loops Studio (FL Studio), which is a very well-known software to most producers. FL Studio is specifically made for producers who enjoy to work at a fast pace and be very creative. Using this software and being able to visualize my creativeness, I was bound to be a producer. Eventually, I paid for more software to create better sound design for my tracks, rather than using the native VST’s I was given when I purchased the software for sound design. Learning all of the software that I spent my money on really boosted my music producing. I love learning new software technologies because it helps me become better at my passion of music …show more content…
If a person would like to create a trend, he or she has to remain completely original. When it comes to music trends, producers have a style which can become a trend. This is what sets apart artists from each other; each producer has their own style to their music. However, there are some producers who mimic other famous producers and try to recreate the original artist’s sounds and ideas. These producers are typically known as generic producers. Generic producers usually do not have an opportunity to strive and gain fame from their music because people become annoyed or sick of listening to the same music over and over again. What gains fame is trends, trends that are original, of course. And as a music producer, I am trying to find my own style and start my own trend because I would like many people to hear my music and enjoy it as much as I do; I am not concerned about fame, but I would not complain if I had it. Being originally and trendy are vital parts to my life, and I am allowed to be both while I pursue my passion in music production.
Often times I get asked why I am passionate about music production, and most times I find it hard to respond because it seems as if I would have to type an essay like this to show my true passion and express my love for producing. Three of my other passions seem to blend in with my main passion of music production:

“If I were Shannon Miller this would not happen,” I often thought as I positioned my body onto the bar. I hated heights and even being a few feet in the air on the highest uneven bar unsettled me. It seemed as if I were on the peak of a mountain top and my oxygen supply was thinning out. Each exhale made me dizzier and before you know it, I would be climbing down in a hurry, anxious to see my score even though I knew it would be low. I hated the fear I felt about practicing on the bars and how I believed that I would end up like my older teammate Chanel, who recently had surgery on both of her knees due to an awful fall in the last competition.…

In order to explain the reason of why I want to attend the Musicians Institute’s Bachelor Program, I would need explain a bit about myself first. You see, when I was young, I've never really had friends or anyone to really talk to, and because of this, I spent most of my childhood alone. Due to the position I was at, I tried to fill in the missing void by wandering inside my imagination, so naturally for most of my time I would be day dreaming. One day I was driving with my parents to school and a certain song came on, and while that song was playing, my imagination went out of control involuntary to the music and started to create a story based off of the song I was listening to, not only that, it also made me feel some type of emotion, if I recall correctly, the emotion that I felt was, happiness. After that moment, I began hearing more songs from a variety of different bands and artists, and the more songs that I began to hear and like, the more my imagination…

Lou Rawls, an American singer, once acknowledged music as the “greatest [form of] communication in the world” (“Brainy Quote,” n.d., para.14). Music is a way for people to express themselves and their feelings comfortably without being ashamed or embarrassed. While these are positive contributions to personal development, there is much more that music provides for people. The article, “Is Music is the Key to Success?” by Joanne Lipman, addresses how music can help people communicate, think, and feel better in a professional job that may have no correlation to music.…

In Aldous Huxley’s “Brave New World”, citizens live without individuality, intelligence, and emotions, all of which can be connected to the absence of playable music. In the real world, everyone is affected by music that they listen to or create themselves, but it is truly underestimated. People have the distinguished ability to express their individuality through the varying types of music in the world and how they react to it. Being a musician can challenge someone’s mental and physical abilities and, if they accept the challenge, can make them more intelligent and capable members of society. Music can also cater to one’s differing emotions and help them to understand their feelings and coping methods.…

When I was a child, most of my time was spent on the computer. I wasn’t very interested with the physical computer, rather I was interested in everything the computer could do. It was more fun for me to tinker with the settings than to play games. As I got older in elementary school, I discovered website and game building sites. I built sites on my computer for everything from a fake business that sold toys to a page to host all the pictures from my semi-annual Barbie fashion shows.…

This is especially helpful in art as art continuously aims for originality. Another, somewhat negative, characteristic that automated music brings up is the fact that people often submit to immediate, surface-level pleasures. Thousands of people gathered to see Compressorhead at a music festival in Australia (Neely, 2013). Maybe they were so interested because of society’s recent romanticization of robots, but there is a chance that the musicians playing the music wasn’t as important to them as the loud, fast noise coming from the machines. The “average” human being may not be able to tell the difference between emotionally driven music in contrast with machine made music.…

Victor Hugo once said, “Music expresses that which cannot be said and on which it is impossible to be silent” (Hugo). Music is not simply an art form, for music can be seen as a basic function in human existence, providing the necessities needed to survive (Yagelski & Miller). For instance, music is recommended to promote quality health and entertainment. According to Brenda Griffin, music is truly remarkable in that it unites all people; when one listens to music, he or she shares a connection with the thousands of others who also enjoy the songs. Music has been in existence for as long as humans, and it is no wonder that the sounds became so popular, expanding immensely over the centuries as technology improved.…

The pricier studios are usually found in the larger areas associated with the music industry, like New York, Los Angeles, Nashville, or Atlanta. Smaller areas, such as Montgomery, Birmingham, and Mobile tend to stay under $100 per hour, but usually cost more than $50 per hour, depending on the quality of the studio. Around Montgomery, the least expensive professional studio that advertises regularly offers digital recording services for as little as $50 per hour. The Cage will offer studio time at a very reasonable $25 per hour, with blocks of time available for negotiable package prices. Our goal here is to focus on the musician or customer without them having to worry about watching the clock or paying more than they can afford.…
