Music Personal Statement Sample

Music is my passion, I appreciate all music genres, but I favour country music. I enjoy the simplistic instrumentation as well as the timbre of country vocalists combined with the minimalist dynamic effects and sound processing that is applied to recordings, providing country music with a natural and raw sound, which I hope to replicate in the music I create throughout my studies and career.
I hope to have a career in the music industry, and studying for a degree in music production is the most beneficial way to learn how to compete in this thriving industry. I was also lucky enough to gain a work experience placement in a recording studio. During this time I learnt the numerous ways that smaller studios promote themselves and develop links within the industry. I learnt the importance of a clear business plan and the need to tailor the studio environment to meet the needs of its intended target audience.
