Learning all of these things regarding one genre of music is nearly unimaginable within the time-span of an hour long broadcast. However, with correct emphasis on the different bands involved, the tip of the iceberg may be discovered. This action will prompt the audience to find the significance of the music within themselves, and the true purpose of the broadcast will be realized.
The broadcast will be a media event, pre-recorded and transmitted from the studio. It will open with a brief segment on the history behind the start of alternative rock. Clips of eighties rock and roll will play while a narrator speaks of the old days of rock. Then, there will be transition into the birth of alternative rock in the late eighties. Brief flashes of video performances through the following decades will play across the screen, the narrator covering the main points of discussion that will be covered throughout the broadcast. He will introduce the bands of Nirvana, Muse, My Chemical Romance, and Kid Cudi by their decade, following this with a hint at the significance these bands possess over the genre as a whole. This beginning to the program will be generalized and broad, but interesting enough to captivate the television audience’s attention and convince them to continue watching.
After the opening, the narrator will shift backwards to the beginning of the alternative rock movement in the late 1980’s. This section will focus on Nirvana, who formed in 1987. They produced songs such as…
