In today’s economic reality, the root cause of low employee morale and productivity can include job security issues such as uncertain business conditions, working long hours etc. Morale is a state of mind which involves feelings and emotions. Regarding the dependents, companies are responsible for offering coverage to full-time employees and their dependents. They do not, however, have to offer coverage to spouses. For example, under transitional relief, employers that do not currently cover dependents won’t face penalties in 2015 as long as they extend benefits to dependents for the plan year beginning in 2016. Wage and hour laws also regulate overtime pay. The federal government does not place limits on the number of hours adults may work per week, but after 40 hours, time and a half must be paid. It is true and necessary that we must also devote time to other activities such as family, entertainment and passion, but I think that 40 hours are not too much and are just at the limit between the work and devoted time for ourselves. What is criticized and abusive, I consider the overtimes of those who work 70 to 80 hours per week. The formula is simple and has allowed the company to improve its image in the fray. It paid off when we look back the 2008 crisis that had spared no industry. The crisis reach the point that the largest companies including the ones in the automotive sector have to turn to the financial aid from the government to be able to exist and continue to function. It 's like Mulally had a vision and knew what was expected and would have happened. He had already prepared his company and his employees to face the crisis with as much cash that Ford had in its possession. In his philosophy of "do not manages your career. Follow your dream and contribute", he has already described how a company should operate nowadays.
