Christian is a third year student at Indiana University with huge dreams of becoming a professional drummer. His passion for drumming started at the age of seven when his mother told him that he had to start playing an instrument. Although, his mother gave him the choice to choose any instrument he desired. At the time, his cousin was drumming in a band that was touring regularly and had a little bit of notoriety. Christian decided that he was going to follow in his cousin’s footsteps and came to his decision that he would choose the drums as his instrument of choice. Christian recognizes that his goals are extremely huge but he is going to keep working at them until others recognize his talents as well. He sometimes gets discouraged thinking that all of his hard word will never pay off in the end. I have known Christian for years now and I have recognized his talents, and I hope that many others do one day too. Others have asked Christian what the future looks like for him and he responds with a line from Chance the Rapper’s song, Acid Rain, that says “Eyes closed, eyes closed, seeing arenas.” He claims that right now he has no clue how he is going to get to where he wants to be, he just knows that he is going to. Christian’s dreams that he once had are starting to become reality and have formed
