Should music lyrics be really censored? This is just one of the questions that make us wonder and think. Music censorship is the official prohibition or restriction of any type of music believed to threaten the political, social or moral order. There are two sides for this issue; there are people who agree for music censorship while there are also people who are against the censorship of the music. Imagine our world without music or imagine our world where we are dictated what to play and what to sing in our own private homes. I think that the government should not prohibit the children or anyone from listening to different kinds of music. Why? First, music is used in communication and setting the atmosphere in a certain event. For example, in a movie, without music it would never have the same impact as one with music. The sound track sets the emotion and suggests the mood of each scene and even our own moods. You will hear loud music in stores to attract customers, music on radio is very effective in entertaining listeners, music in advertisements let them to sell products and music in different events are used for them to be lively. Through music, people express what they feel, what they see and what they think are happening in our society. Music brings people together whether it’s rap, rock, pop, kpop, or any other genre because they are able to express what they feel covey their message to the listeners. Music helps them describe what it feels like to be a Filipino, Korean, Chinese, or even an African. Through certain types of songs and lyrics, people might understand what it feels like to be part of a certain race. And by this, the government or any parts of the world will know what help this country needs and what kind of help they can
