People resist and that makes the police think that they can just keep treating blacks unfairly and unequally. People walk with their hands up so that they don 't get shot or killed by the police, blacks logical reasoning to save themselves is by having their hands up so that there is no confusion if the person has a weapon or not, to save lives and have hope for the greater good.

Racial segregation is a major issue in today 's world, another major issue we have is ignorance and injustice, the author Richard Rothstein is a research associate of the economic Policy Institute, and he also is the senior fellow of chief Justice Earl Warren Institute on Law and Social Policy at the University of California (Berkeley) School of Law. In Richard Rothstein’s article “The Story Behind Ferguson” he expresses his emotional and logical reasoning to the different views about segregation and how the whites treated the blacks, the struggle for being a black trying to go to school. Rothstein mentions: “We cannot narrow the achievement gap to any significant extent in segregated schools. And we cannot desegregate schools unless we desegregate neighborhoods.” (32) He’s discussing the struggle for black kids to get good grades and become something, how teachers focus more on discipline rather than instructions, due to the blacks routinely getting ill due to malnourishment. The textbooks have different stories about segregation, and what the real truth is, not many people know how the fight went before blacks could finally afford homes, and schooling, when they no longer needed food stamps to support their families.
