2) In 10-12 sentences, describe the art exhibition as a whole. Do not use the personal pronoun “I”. Identify materials and general size. Identify some of the following design elements and describe how they are used: line, shape, scale, value (light and dark), color, and texture. Not all will necessarily apply but many will. Imagine you are describing the overall exhibit to a friend who can’t see it.

There was an emphasis on trees, branches, and questioning. The size of the works were about the size of a typical poster so about 1.5 feet by 2 feet except for the sculpture which was lifesize. The location of the works was elaborate and intentional. Balance was shown through the amount of pieces on the sides of the sculpture in the middle of the gallery. The exhibition depicted the the relationship between nature and man. One aspect that was ironic was the depiction of metal through the use of soil. The sculpture in the middle was in the shape of a

Confluence is all about questioning and thankfulness. Seán Slemon used Confluence to describe the exhibition because the exhibition makes the audience question. This is evidently seen through the intentional use of soil as a material. Naturally the audience questions why Seán Slemon used soil, and therefore confluence is used.
