The first piece really inspired me because it had so much color and it had so much going on at the same time. It was almost like someone took a picture of a moving crowd. I saw plenty of things going on in that painting. Too much to describe in a short essay. But some of the things that I noticed were basic things that almost everyone saw. There was a snake that was eating a bird which is part of the cycle of course. Then I noticed that some of the animals were facing my direction as if looking at me through the painting. Of course was more than one painting. We looked at a sculpture that had all sorts of things attached. It wasn't my favorite but I thought it was worth mentioning. It had a lot of different items on it. There was stuff like …show more content…
Then we saw a piece where we had to figure out what it said. It was difficult at first but then it got easier. When I first read it, I thought it said “Never Abandon Hope.” It was a pretty nice message but it also said something about a muffler shop. I feel like it was a promo but I could be wrong. The border of the piece was a Chevy symbol. Makes sense right. Right next to the painting was a piece that had multiple little squares next to it. They were all different colors. They weren't crazy, they were regular colors that you would see on a rainbow. They tour guide said that we were one of the few places that had all of the pieces all together. I kinda wish that the squares were more daring colors instead of those plain boring regular colors that everybody uses. I want to look at it and ask myself what kind of shade is that. We went through a lot of rooms with paintings but we didn't get to stop by all of them. I remember going through one room and it had paintings with the exact same coloration and the same patterns. They weren't all identical but I found it kind of boring. We also saw some painting that were pretty unusual. I won't describe them but they were pretty

The balance of the image is interesting to me. It’s almost a mirrored image with the way the birds are placed. If you spin the image upside down you can see practically the same image. I fine the detail in this image to be what really stands out to me. The colors and texture of the birds are what really makes the painting look so…

At the Crocker Art Museum there was an exhibition for a artist called Al Farrow. The exhibition had sculptures of churches, cathedrals and mosques made from bullets and guns. When I first viewed the sculptures my initial thoughts were they are interesting, unique however very disturbing. According to the museum Farrow’s inspiration for these sculptures came from his visit of San Lorenzo, in Florence, Italy, in 1995. On his trip he saw displays of ornate containers that preserved the bones of saints along with other various religious objects.…

It was particularly amazing to see many of these works before the museum had opened to public and there were massive crowds around them. I cannot describe the surprise of walking around the corner to see Vincent van Gogh’s Starry Night hanging on the wall with no one around it. In high school, I had intensely studied this piece before when I was trying to reproduce it with a Sharpie pen. However, there was something very profound to seeing in person. It was a little smaller than I had expected it to be, but still so beautiful.…

For my project, I decided to use the large selection of stained glass mosaics at the Broadway Junction train station (The Canarsie Line) as my basis for the public artwork. Out of around 75 pieces of artwork, I chose to do one of the ones towards the end, which doesn’t have a name due to it being part of a collection of artwork. The rest of the collection are on either side of the escalators at the station. The collection they are all a part of is the Brooklyn, New Morning collection made by Al Loving. These were all made during 2001.…

Our purposed public artwork location was decided on to be located in front of the Rogue Ales Gallery and Restaurant in the Bay front area of Newport, Oregon. Our artwork will be a sculpture in the round, giant beer mug that says “Oregon Micro Brews,” in moss, on the mug. The mug itself will be made out of concrete to utilize the porosity of the medium. The artwork will be sitting on a pedestal of sorts with a plaque that lists all the microbreweries in Oregon. The function of the piece is to bring awareness, respect, and regional pride in what Oregonians have accomplished; Having more microbreweries, per capita, then any other state.…
