Think about what you did last week maybe you played a game of basketball, run outside, go to the beach. While you did this with ease and little to no thought. People with muscle diseases generally don’t get those opportunities. The Muscular Dystrophy Associations summer camp supports kids fighting muscular dystrophy and other life-threatening muscle diseases that severely limit their abilities. At these summer camps kids build confidence and the week offers them freedom and independence they rarely get to be part of.
While at summer camp campers, the kids, are paired with an attendant, an able bodied assistant. Together they spend the week doing all types of activities generally not for children with muscle disease. Last year
