Muscle Shoal Differences

Decent Essays
When one compares a big city to a small town, he or she will find many differences. Big cities often have skyscrapers, diverse groups of people, or tourists. When I think of my personal experiences and the comparison of two cities, I think of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Muscle Shoals, Alabama. There are many things that are different about Las Vegas and Muscle Shoals. The most notable differences are the natural elements, the laid back atmosphere, and the different types of people. Las Vegas has a very mountainous terrain compared to Muscle Shoals. That being said, the ground is also relatively flat. The mountains are everywhere and appear in clusters. The ground all around the mountains is typically level and flat. The land also looks like dirt. There are no trees or plants. It does not rain very frequently in Las Vegas. This is okay for them because they do not need rain that often. Muscle Shoals is just the opposite. It rains frequently. The region that we live in thrives on rain, so that the farmers may grow their crops proficiently. Las Vegas does not grow corn, cotton, or soy beans, as we do. The environment in Las Vegas is very different from Muscle Shoals. …show more content…
Muscle Shoals is filled with families who, generally, have a pretty routine lifestyle: going to school, work, or church. We usually do not get out of the house unless we have somewhere to be or someone to see. Las Vegas, however, is often a vacation destination. The streets of Las Vegas are filled with people who are looking for something to bide their time. They walk aimlessly, stopping at the next store or attraction that grabs their attention. The people act in a spontaneous way, as though there are no clocks in Las Vegas. This lifestyle is common in some places in the world, but not in Muscle

Is it important to understand the structure of our muscles? And if so how could this improve the results of our muscle exercise routine? One wise thing to do when deciding the muscles exercise technique we are going to adopt is to find out the type of structure a muscle is made of, muscles as we know are formed by either a slow-contract structure or a fast-contract structure, for example a muscle made of high level of slow-contracts structure reacts more favorably to high repetitions, so high level of slow-contracts structured muscles are more adequately trained in the 15 or over repetitions to allow the muscle to be enough time under pressure. Fast-contracts structured muscles are more adequately trained in the 6 to 12 repetitions.…

John McPhee’s The Control Of Nature tells three stories about how the Earth’s surface is changing. The stories have different settings, different plots, and different conclusions, but share two common themes that relate to our “enduring understandings” of Earth Science. The first theme is that the energy for the changes comes either from outer space (more specifically, the Sun), or from deep underneath the Earth’s surface. The other theme is that water and rock are never really created or destroyed, but instead cycle through the Earth’s systems in changing form. The stories combine these themes in different ways.…

Every morning, I make a cup of café con leche and tune into channel 5’s jingle of Matt Goss’ “Lovely Las Vegas” at 5 am before I get ready to make my way Downtown — a modern piece of the desert amidst the heart of the valley. As I look up at the street after struggling to untangle my headphones on my way to the bus top, I encounter new faces and wonder where they are going. My destination is seeing the sunrise appear with the silhouette of the Stratosphere Casino on one side of the field and the Downtown skyline on the other as the bus drops me off on 7th Street to complete my long morning routine – only to repeat the same journey the next day. There are days in which I would like to skip out on my morning walks to catch up on a couple minutes…

The characteristics looked for in good race horses are large lung volume, high hemoglobin concentration, skeletal muscle mass, cardiac output, glycogen storage capacity, and mitochondrial density.…
