All three systems continually function together to provide the energy needed for muscle activity and replenish energy stores. The ATP-PC system plays a huge role in this sport as a result of multiple burst of short distance running and hitting powerful strikes during a game. It requires a trained muscular system for strength, power, endurance and speed. This system is allows quick intense muscle contraction and is responsible for fast movement on court such as running back and forth within to court to strike and return the ball over the opponent’s court. Players will also need cellular respiration system because of one of the key components to maintaining energy throughout a match (endurance) is a player’s ability to take in and utilize oxygen. With a high aerobic ability, the cardiovascular system is able to deliver oxygen effectively. Therefore, a player can continue to play longer without getting tired as rapidly or having to reduce the intensity of plays.
