Murder has been going on for centuries across the United States ranging from voluntary and involuntary manslaughter to first and second-degree murder. While some killings may be intentional, and others may be accidents, people are constantly attempting to explain why murder occurs by using theories. According to Merriam Webster online dictionary, a theory is “a belief, policy, or procedure proposed or followed as the basis of action.” There are many theories that can be used in an attempt to explain why murder occurs, however, each theory has limitations making it hard to distinguish why murders occur. Following his admirable days as a good child, Robinson began acting out. A classmate by the name of Lee Regner stated Robinson attended detention often due to small encounters with other classmates. Not to mention his problems in the classroom. His classmate Regner also stated these events led to Robinson leaving Quigley after his freshman year was over. After leaving Quigley, Robinson attended a junior college where he studied X-ray technology, but he did not end up graduating. Consequently, Robinson moves to Kansas City where he marries his wife Nancy Lynch and subsequently begins a criminal record.

Before John Robinson began killing he encountered several minor misdemeanors in comparison to his many murders. His first misdemeanor came “after he embezzled $33,000 from the medical practice of Dr. Wallace Graham” (Townsend & McPadden, 2017) which resulted in three years’ probation for Robinson. Eventually, he continued to build up his criminal record; violating his parole. Robinson was fired from several of his jobs after found stealing from work. Ultimately, it prompted John Robinsons’ first time in prison. Following this series of misdemeanors, Robinson began to elevate his level of
