Murder is a hideous crime committed by people throughout time, but what causes individuals to murder even in the sacred confines of marriage. Blue Beard is a folktale written by Charles Perrault about a nobleman who continuously murders his wives until the day he is killed by his new wife’s brother. Similar to this folktale is Captain Murderer, which is a folktale about a rich man who has fallen into the habit of consuming his wives after their wedding. Both men are rich, but for an unknown reason they fall into the practice of killing. Unfortunately this practice is not just in folktales, but it is a reality even in marriage. Just like there was no reason given as to why blue beard or captain murder killed their wives, there is hardly no specific
