Murder is defined as “the unlawful premeditated killing of one human being by another.” During the early morning of August 6th, 1996 three men were brutally murdered at a house on Semple Avenue in Winnipeg, also known to have the highest rates of both gang-related and firearm homicides. (Perreault, 2012) On June 26th, 1997, the accused, Robert Tews, Roger Sanderson, and Robert Sanderson were brought into court on the allegations that they had committed the murders of Stefan Zurstegge, Jason Gross, and Thomas Russell Krowetz. On August 5th, 1996, many persons were at the Grant Hotel in Winnipeg, including Krowetz and Gross.
