We were the last group to pick out a script, something that made me somewhat concerned. Thankfully, the decision to do Murder at Midnight is one that I am happy with. The script is more often than not lewdly comedic in a way that an audience should love. The characters are all ridiculous and hard to believe once you give them anything more than a passing thought, but that is why this script works so well in its 10-minute format. …show more content…
We finished the construction of the last few props: an egg timer, the paint on the telephone, and a bright blue box of condoms. We continued to run lines, just to be sure we had all the little things correct. We had Tattnall reserved for 4:00, so we drove over at that point and continued rehearsal. We did our first dress rehearsal, something that I feel really helped us near the completed product. I, for one, felt much more like the character of Woman when I got to really throw open my towel rather than simply pantomiming the movement. Having the desk full of props also gave the rehearsal a sense of finality, and having everything laid out in that way made performing feel more urgent.
