Contrary to what one would expect based on the title of her book, The Forever Fix: Gene Therapy and the Boy Who Saved It, Ricki Lewis pens a narrative science focused on the milestones in the history of gene therapy, not just one success story (Lewis, 2012). As a supplement to the curriculum of the AP Biology course, the major biological concept of gene therapy in The Forever Fix: Gene Therapy and the Boy Who Saved It relates specifically to the third big idea in the AP Biology curriculum framework’s four major points.…

As the world of science enters the realm of what was once science fiction, many important debates and discussions will serve to mold the world’s future. Thus enter the old science fiction flicks such as the 1997 film Gattaca, a movie ahead of its time with respect to its focus on parents’ eugenic policies that promoted the manipulation of their children’s genes. We must despise any potential Nazi-esque policies that Vincent Freeman had to suffer through as a result of the eugenic ideal of his society. The obvious enemy of humankind is this gene editing technology…

Nevertheless, two hours of card games, lots of singing, and a ton of laughing still had me looking at my watch every twenty minutes. Out of all the trips this June, the McEnroe farm was the one that I was looking forward to the most. This film proved that Kim Ki-duk's presence in a movie is a pledge of success by its own self. This time, the Korean auteur penned the script, with Jang Hoon, the director, being one of the many assistants Kim had in his films, learning "the art" in "The Bow." The combination proved very successful, with "Rough Cut" recording more admissions than all of the previous Kim's films combined. Soo-ta's career (the name is actually a parody of the Korean word for (movie) star) is on the verge of collapse, since the "bad boy" of the Korean cinema beat his co-star in his last film, a crime movie. His action brought a general outcry among the press, the fans of the victim and his colleagues, with none of them wishing to work with him anymore.…
