This resource also includes a section that compares Ancient inventions to current technology that we use on a daily basis. This makes the content relatable because students can make connections to history. This book gives us an insight to how people lived in the past, as well as their geography, culture, history, and traditions. It also includes great pictures, maps, and facts on every page. In my plan, I will focus on the sections pertaining to the Nile River. As a class, we will read the sections specifically about who the Egyptians were, the gift of the Nile, how we know about Egyptians, and looking after Egypt’s past. This myth is called Isis and the Seven Scorpions. This myth is about Isis and whenever she leaves Horus she is accompanied by seven scorpions. One day, they go into this town and a wealthy nobleman sees her arrive and then she shuts the door on them. The scorpions got angry and decide to teach the woman a lesson. Six scorpions gave the other scorpion their combined poison. A humble peasant offered her home to Isis and the scorpions for the night but the scorpions were not satisfied. That night, the scorpion with the poison went to the noble woman 's house and stung her son with the poison. The woman was running through the town seeking for help to save her son. Isis heard her cries and felt bad because an innocent child was going to die so Isis offered to help. Isis was able to heal the son by making the scorpion 's poison unharmful. The myth is important to show students because it shows us that the Ancient Egyptians believed that you should be kind to everyone because you never know who will be willing to help
