As a part of my junior portfolio, I got the chance to job shadow Dr. Troy D. Smith at Mulvane Animal Clinic. I was required to be at the clinic at 8:00 A.M. on Saturday October 15th, and Wednesday October 19th. Also, I was not required to bring money or a lunch because on both days I was there I left at 11:00 A.M. Because I have wanted to help animals since I was little I wanted to job shadow a veterinarian. While I was on my job shadow I got to experience many procedures, and assist the doctors. When I first got there on Saturday October 15th, I identified a roundworm in a fecal sample through a microscope. Also, there are four support staff members, one kennel worker, and an office manager.
Question 2: Are there others with whom you work closely? Briefly describe their responsibilities and how they mesh with yours.
Answer 2: The support staff is in charge of helping the doctors, and following the doctor's instructions. The kennel worker is in charge of cleaning and caring for the animals in the kennel. The office manager is in charge of business management.
Question 3: How did you decide on this profession?
Answer 3: Dr. Smith: wanted to since I was seven years old, and I had the desire to serve people and work hard.
Dr. Ahlerich: grew up on a farm, and wanted to be a vet since she was five.
Dr. Reichenberger: started off going to college to be a doctor, but then decided that people are gross and he didn’t want to work on them.
Dr. Gosch: grew up in a farm setting, and loved helping his dad with the animals.

Answer 4: I never know what to expected, and there is something new everyday.
