Multiple Sclerosis Research Paper

Multiple Sclerosis is a very common disease in people around the world. For instance my beloved grandmother got diagnosed with it in 1958. She had primary progressive MS and it is known to be the worst type of MS out of the four different types. Right off, she started having symptoms such as double vision, problems driving, problems walking, tingling, and weakness in her legs along with getting infections easily. She lived at home and my grandfather hired a special nurse to stay with her all day to help her out and make sure she was doing well with all the treatments she was given. Throughout the years of her having MS she went from having a cane, to crutches, to a walker, to a wheelchair, to then it ended up to her having to stay in bed. It was not only hard for my mom's family to go through this, but it is hard for every family to see someone they love go through this. The most common symptoms are fatigue, weakness dizziness, loss of mobility, numbness and tingling, vision problems, slurred speech,and bladder dysfunction(“Strategies for Diagnosing Multiple Sclerosis Early Avoiding Misdiagnosis”). Some types of Multiple Sclerosis have these symptoms worse than other types it varies on the amount of nerve damage you personally have with what type you have. ("Multiple Sclerosis: Symptoms and Causes"). One thing that makes all these symptoms worse is a small increase in body temperature, but they are not called relapse. Although Primary-Progressive Multiple Sclerosis has the most gradual progression of the symptoms and signs that show but they don’t have relapses.
