Multiple Perspectives

Reflecting on what I have learned about my practice as a social work student, I learned how to analyze a case study by applying multiple perspectives. During this assignment, I recognized a connection between the case study and the group work. In both circumstances, it was essential for me to be able to look at multiple perspectives while collaborating towards decision-making and problem solving with my group surrounding the case study. By using this technique in the case study, I was able to deconstruct and better examine the multiple interlocking issues such as the reasons for the budget cuts and staffing shortages that were negatively affecting each individual differently. For example, each group member was presented with the chance to add their ideas and opinions towards creating a presentation we were all satisfied with. In my opinion, I believe I was successful in practicing seeing other peoples perspectives because if I was incapable to I would have experienced a conflict due to failing to see the views of others. My overall group experience was positive because I felt that all group members listened, accepted and valued the input of eachother. Reflecting back on this experience I felt this was an area of strength for me and will beneficial in my future practice as a social worker especially when working on interdisciplinary
