The Holocaust was a time when Hitler, the ruler of Germany, thought that all Jews were a disease to society. When Jews were found they were sent to concentration camps. But through it all one girl named Anne Frank kept courage and kindness. While she was hiding, in her journal she said , “In spite of it all, I still believe people are really good at heart.” She showed kindness through it all, even the hardest times. She even made gifts for all of her roommates for Hanukkah. But I could still see how some people think opposite of me because of Mr. and Mrs. Van Daan’s actions. Both of them were very selfish and unkind, but Anne was even kind to them in the end. Multiple …show more content…
Dussel: Capsules! Two capsules. Anne: They're ear plugs.
When Anne gave Dussel the gift he was very surprised because he has not been very kind to Anne. But the gift that she gave him was very, very thoughtful in my opinion. Because it wasn't something that Dussel needed, but it was something that could help him get peaceful sleep and Anne wouldn't have to be silent. Anne even gave Mr, Van Daan a gift. And he had been stealing food for himself. It took Anne a lot of time to make all of their gifts but she still did it. This shows how truly kind and selfless she is. She did have some of her moments, like with her mother, but she made it up by giving her 10 hours of “IOU.” Even though I agree with Anne’s quote, I could see how some people would disagree. Mr. and Mrs. Van Daan were not the nicest of people. Mr. Van Daan was stealing food from the pantry late at night and was blaming it on the cat. On page 120 Mr. Frank says, Mr. Frank: He’s stealing food.
When Mr. Frank found this out this is when almost all things went downhill. Instead of Mr. Van Daan telling the truth and telling them that he was getting food, he blamed it on Peter’s cat, Mouschi. He lied right to their faces which is not any part of kindness! Mrs. Van Daan was just very selfish and only cared about herself. On page 40 Mrs. Van Daan
