The physical experience of the objective is what generates understanding for the individual. In kinesthetic learning, movement and action replace more passive forms of learning, such as listening to a lecture (712 educators). Kinesthetic learners learn best through doing including manipulating items, simulations and role plays, and other methods for presenting subject matter that physically involve them in the learning process (freemwtl). They fit in with the conventional, school taught study method of reading textbooks and writing notes (the study Gurus). Aural learners prefer to talk out ideas, discussing, and making use of audio courses. For an aural, their preferred method of learning strategies is taping conversations and remembering interesting stories. A real-life example of this, is when an aural student brings in an audio recorders and tape the lecture at the same time it takes notes. After completing the VARK assessment, I learned that I have a multimodal learning preference. I believe this to be true. Depending on what I am learning, I will use a different learning still to grasp what is being taught to me. I was aware of this prior to taking the test. For example, when I am learning a new procedure at work, I pick up the procedure quicker when the person shows me the process, provide a quick reference guide, and also provide some personal detail to task to help them with the procedure.…

Therefore, my teacher explained to me I was a kinesthetic learning I have a sense of feeling of it and seeing it visually instead of it just being auditory. I can use my learning style in college because when I am unsure of what the professor may ask, I may ask her to draw a picture when explaining. Most professors, I know are visual learners, thus most of their lessons are all in PowerPoint or they use the Smart Board when teaching. Overall, the professors at Broward College are very understanding. They recognize that every student learns a different and I really appreciate the different learning styles…

The purpose of this paper is to identify and compare the meaning as well as the differences of three learning styles as they relate to both the academic and professional realm. I have chosen these three styles because I believe the majority of people are either visual, auditory, or kinesthetic learners. Each person has his or her own way of converting, processing, storing, and retrieving information. The way we connect the information is an important part of the learning process. Learning is an individual process unique to everyone and as individuals we tend to prefer different learning methods.…

According to the VARK questionnaire results, I am a read-write learner. A read-write learner is an individual who prefers using words rather than visuals to intake, understand and convey information. The study methods that the VARK questionnaire says are most helpful for my learning preferences includes taking notes, writing definitions and key concepts and taking practice multiple choice quizzes. This questionnaire was very accurate as I use these study methods for all of my college courses and I have fine-tuned them throughout the years. My study method primarily consists of first reading a section out of the textbook and then taking notes on that section.…

I scored highest in the reading/writing section in the VARK questionnaire, which most definitely makes sense. When studying for tests and exams I always create my own separate study guide just so I can see the information in my own format. When memorizing spelling and vocabulary words when I was younger I would continuously write the words and definitions over and over again until I finally understood what I was trying to learn. I’ve also always learned better when being assigned textbook pages or reading handouts, compared to getting up snd moving around the class. Currently I’m working on a career project for one of my high school classes and I have to write three pages about my future line of work.…

In a general group, there are usually several different learning types among the group. For example, I am a very visual and reading/writing learner. I learn best when something is written out for me to see. However, my brother Will is a very kinesthetic learner, who learns by seeing and trying things for himself. If a speaker was writing a speech for my brother and I, he or she may want to consider adding in visual elements and demonstrations.…

I myself am a visual learner, meaning that I understand information better when I can see it, but this doesn't apply to everyone. Auditory learners retain information that hey can hear, while kinesthetic learners are fond of moving and doing. Knowing these preferences teachers and students can come up with ways to structure classes and study that appeal to different needs.…

Everyone learns in their own unique way; whether it is visual, aural, kinesthetic, or read/write applies to each individual person. Sometimes though they get crossed over and multiple preferences can apply to one person. That event would be called multimodal learning. In specific my learning preference is multimodal with a proclivity for aural and read/write. For this scenario much of my learning can be accrued from many sources, but I happen to work best with activities that have the presenter or lecturer talking and that allow note taking.…
